Hello! I need to give you an update, 

You may have heard (or will soon be hearing) about plans for a new building on the site where Studio 41 currently stands which will be used by Canterbury Christ Church University.

For those who don't know the story, we've been aware for some time about plans to redevelop the club, i.e. tear it down and put something new in it's place. Permission was originally given for a block of flats but a developer is putting forward a new submission for student accommodation. We think the proposal, which will end up being used by Christ Church, will be much more beneficial to Canterbury than the previous plans; Therefore we will not be objecting to it.

What all this means in the short term is additional press stories about the development and fresh rumours we're going to close overnight which is obviously not the case. I wanted to send this message to reassure you we'll still be there next month, and the month after that, and the month after that. 

It'd be pointless for me to guess, as others have already done, on exactly how long Studio 41 will be at it's current location. Any dates you may hear or read about at this stage are complete speculation. I can tell you we will not be moving anywhere this year. When I know factually the date we're leaving, I'll send around a message on this group to tell you. There will be no secrecy here, as soon as I know, you'll know. 

The intention is to relocate Studio 41 and Planet Lazer to another premises in Canterbury. There are several plans but as soon as I know THE plan, I'll be sharing it with you. 

My view? This is incredibly exciting. It's a chance to give Canterbury something it's never seen before. Oh, and I've been told they can build me a bar in my DJ box. WIN! I think this could be good!
